From ELO’s memorable logo and album cover, to current billboards on Sunset Strip, award winning Art Director/Designer, Ria Lewerke, has changed the look of the entertainment business. She was born in Germany and educated at Hamburg’s Werkkunstschule and the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles.
Her illustrious career in music, print, film and video, spans thirty years. As Art Director for the most demanding performing artists and industry clients, her keen eye for style and design has resulted in a body of work that is the envy of her peers. As Creative Director, her proven ability to combine the best emerging talent and creative teams, with an understanding of the essence of her subject matter, has had lasting impact.
Ria Lewerke has worked with a who’s who of the world’s great photographers, among them: Richard Avedon, Norman Seef, George Hurrell, Strepnefsky, Herb Ritts, Moshe Brakha, Mark Seliger, Dean Karr, William Claxton and Douglas Kirkland. For special projects, she has supervised artist/ designers such as Andy Warhol, Mark Salisbury, John Van Hammersfeld, Louise Robinson and Michael Sowa.
For an elite group of artists such as Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, Paul McCartney, Tori Amos, Rob Thomas and Matchbox 20, she has been retained to create complete imaging. This includes; photo sessions, album art, print advertising, and outdoor advertising.
